Donut Fun Run & Finish Line Festival 2025
Donut Fun Run & Festival | Sat Oct 18 | 9 AM–1 PM | $50 (Kids <10 Free)
📍 Seaplane Lagoon Promenade, Alameda Point.
Runners will take on a scenic 5K route along the waterfront and past the USS Hornet before ending at a lively festival packed with food vendors, live music, and the famous Donut Eating Contest. It’s one of Alameda’s sweetest fall traditions for families, runners, and donut lovers alike. More Info
Unwind By The Bay - Free Sunset Yoga Fridays

Need to shake off the week? Join 19 others in Unwind by the Bay, a free sunset yoga class right next to the Harbor Bay Ferry Landing.
Each session is a relaxing outdoor flow with music, fun prizes, and golden-hour views of the Bay. You’ll move, breathe, and hang out with locals who love ending the week by slowing down. It’s an easy way to unwind before dinner or whatever plans you’ve got next.
There are only 20 spots each week! All levels welcome. Bring your mat and RSVP early to grab your spot.
Time: Fridays, 4:30 PM - 5:15 PM

Island Updates
Feel Good Bakery Closing

Feel Good Bakery, a longtime favorite at Alameda’s Marketplace and on Encinal Ave, will close for good on October 31, 2025. After more than two decades of serving pastries, breads, and coffee to locals, the owners said it was a hard decision, but rising costs made it difficult to stay open. Regular customers are stopping by this month for one last croissant or loaf before the ovens turn off for good. Read more →
Mobile Parking Meters Implemented

Starting October 20, the City of Alameda is rolling out a new way to pay for parking, making it easier for drivers to handle payments from their phones. Residents and visitors can use the ParkSmarter app or text-to-pay at downtown meters and pay-by-plate stations, including new credit-card-friendly pay stations on Park Street. Paid parking is also being added at the Harbor Bay Ferry Terminal on Tuesdays through Thursdays at $3 per day, with revenue funding added to security at the terminal. Read more →
